Gautam Madhavan Nair
I love the sense of adventure while creating something new, and most of all giving form to an idea. After my industrial experience and training from Samudra shipyard, Kerala Foods, and Flexicar in, Melbourne, I co-founded in 2009 YUGA Design, a product design and development firm. I specialize in product styling, ergonomics (user, product & space), user study, enclosure design, UI Design, prototyping mock up and working models.
I hold strong belief in the value and importance of synchronizing product aesthetics alongside product function. My design practices depend on a process that built on strong user study which helps to deliver user centric solutions. In 2010 YUGA Design won a grant from the Department of Science and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of INDIA, to develop an in-house eco-friendly solar -electric hybrid catamaran and on successful completion, our product was featured as DSIR's Technopreneur success story.
YUGO Design has been associated with some of the top Indian medical equipment manufacturers including Appasamy Ocular Devices and Phoenix Medical systems, and in 2012 one of our product swon "Innovative product of the year, Medica, GERMANY."
After earning a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from Madras University, I earned from the National institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India a post graduate degree in design.
