Brima Patrick Kapuwa

Prior to his relocation to the United States, Patrick was the Head of the Department of Sociology and Social Work in the School of Social Sciences of Njala University in Sierra Leone, Africa. He is also the West African Economic and Social Development Expert for the Institute for Development Impact, a consulting group based in Washington DC specializing in development effectiveness.

With a background in social sciences and technical competencies in educational and institutional administration and community development, and deep experience working in Sierra Leone, Liberia and China, Patrick has provided consultancy services to State and Non-governmental organizations.

Patrick earned a BA and MA in Education (Lingusitics) from Njala University in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and a PhD in Contemporary International Relations and Law from Jilin University in Changchun, China. He has also completed Certificates in Peacekeeping and International Conflict Resolution, Ethics, Gender, and Humanitarian Relief Operations from the United Nations/Department of Peacekeeping Operations (UN/DPKO). He is earning a second doctorate, in strategic leadership at Thomas Jefferson University.
