Guy Thigpen
Guy Thigpen is Director of Analytics for the City of Philadelphia Land Bank. He is responsible for GIS and Analytical Services including the LAMA system, modeling and simulation, training, and special projects. Prior to joining the Philadelphia Land Bank, he worked for the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority where he founded the City Urban Fellows program and directed the Geospatial Services Unit. Guy also teaches part-time at the University of Pennsylvania.
Guy has previously held positions including vice president of planning at the Jersey City Medical Center; member of the board for Landmarks Harlem; president of the Friends of the Lifers for Youth; owner of TCM Group; and, partner of a Sterling Optical Store. These positions have built a strong foundation for allowing Guy to understand the urban environments.
Guy is committed to lifelong learning. He has earned a BA Degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania; an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science; a Master’s degree in Urban Spatial Analytics and a Master of Philosophy Degree in Project, Program and Portfolio Leadership with highest honors for his thesis from the University of Pennsylvania.
