John Ervin

John Ervin's leadership education began while serving in the U.S. Military as a non-commissioned officer and then as an Army Nurse Corps Officer. He continues to be a volunteer mentor and career coach to fellow military veterans.

His current position is Assistant Vice President of Surgical Operations at Virtua Medical Group, associated with Virtua Healthcare System of New Jersey. He is an experienced nurse and nurse executive who has led surgical services departments in local hospitals, large academic medical institutions, and ambulatory care centers at Walter Reed Army Healthcare System, Hahnemann University Hospital, Kennedy Health System, and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

John earned a B.S. in Biology from Excelsior University; B.S. in Nursing from Villanova University; M.B.A. in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Northeastern University; Executive Certificate in Healthcare Operations from the T. Chan School of Public Health at Harvard University; Graduate Certificate in Lean Healthcare Operations from Thomas Jefferson University; and Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Policy from George Mason University. He is a Certified Professional Life Coach from Fowler International Academy of Professional Coaching, and a Doctor of Management student in the Strategic Leadership program at Philadelphia University.
