Venard Scott Koerwer

Scott is an entrepreneur in education and business. He has been involved in three entrepreneurial startups and numerous program development initiatives working with world-class organizations, executives, faculty, staff and students to develop and implement programs in Africa, Asia, Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and the United States. Currently he serves as the Vice President for Strategy & Planning at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine where he is also the founding dean of the Graduate School, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and a member of the faculty.

Previously Scott served as the 21st President of Newberry College; Deputy Dean and Clinical Professor of Management at The Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina; Associate Dean of Professional Programs (MS, MBA, executive degree and certificate programs) & Student Services at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland; and as a Senior Director in the Executive Education Division of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

A lifelong learner, he has participated in multiple executive education programs. He is an alumnus of the Kellogg School of Management's Advanced Executive Program (AEP); Harvard Institute for Education Management (IEM); Population Health Academy at Thomas Jefferson University School of Population Health; Academy for Innovative Education Leadership at Arizona State & Georgetown Universities; and he earned a certificate in organizational development from the National Training Labs.

Scott has a BA from Muhlenberg College, master's degree in government from Lehigh University, doctorate in education from the University of Pennsylvania, and he is currently earning a second doctorate in Strategic Leadership at Thomas Jefferson University.
