Sergio Garon

I am a trilingual (English, Portuguese, Spanish) highly skilled management professional with core competencies in Strategic Management, Financial Management, SOX Compliance, Business Process Management, Project / Program / Portfolio Management, Organizational Change Management, OPM3®, and IT-Business Interface (ITIL-F, COBIT, ISO 20000). My consulting has been in the management, operations, financial, and commercial areas for financial institutions as well as across a wide range of business sectors. These include corporate education, telecommunication, automotive, oil and gas, environmental, agribusiness, and biotechnology. I have extensive experience in multimillion dollar cost-savings projects and with complex intra- and inter-organizational dynamics.

My professional credentials and activities include membership in Project Management Institute (I am a contributor to the PMBOK Guide, 5th Edition, 2012), São Paulo Chapter; American Society for Quality, São Paulo section; and Brazilian Council for Management. I am a volunteer at the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, PMI São Paulo, and with Projeto EMET. I hold professional licenses/certificates as Business Administrator from the Brazilian Council for Management (CRA-SP); ITIL-F (APMG/OGC); Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Project Management from the University of California, Irvine; and Policy Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

I previously earned a BBA from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, Brazil and an MS degree in the Projects, Programs, and Portfolios concentration of Organizational Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania. I am currently a student in the PhD program of Project Management at the École Polytechnique of the University of Montreal.
