Subramaniam (Subbu) Vincent
I am a technologist, journalism innovator, writer and entrepreneur. I have 10 years experience in internet technology research, product development and deployment for projects in India and the United States. My consulting practice integrates technology, journalism, innovation, and leadership.
My work in journalism began in 2003 when I co-founded India Together, an India focused developmental e-journal, and Citizen Matters, a civic newsmagazine for Bangalore. Citizen Matters integrates citizen journalism with professional journalism while maintaining independence, and has been credited with fostering increased civic involvement in Bangalore. The two publications have earned 10 journalism awards within 11 years, of which 3 are international. As an experienced editor and nurturer of young talent, I also teach new media and journalism seminars. My work has been described in chapters of two books on Indian media. As well, I am a contributor of chapters to two media books, and I have published two research papers.
I earned a Bachelor of Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Trichy, India, and an MS in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California.
